My friends say I'm deep, I think I'm ditzy. Either way, technology has degenerated enough that even I have figured out how to use blogs. Perhaps this is a sign of the impending apocolypse, but until the sky comes crashing down around us, I'll be posting!

testing... is anyone there?

This is my first foray into blogging. There's a lot to know about me, but it can probably all be summed up by looking at these sites: Daily Egyptian, SIUC and Facebook. And now we can add the State Journal-Register to the list because I will be camping out in Springfield as a reporting intern this summer.

I'm attempting the journalism gig by tirelessly working at the Daily Egyptian since September 2003. This semester I am serving as the managing editor. I am also garnering 'real world' experience through internships at the Telegraph in Alton, Illinois, and the Reading Eagle in Reading, Pa.

When not pursuing a breaking story or talking to grandmothers about baking brownies, I am also a student at Southern Illinois University. My major is journalism, naturally, and my minor is women's studies.

I promise my future posts will include drama, romance and action, and will most definitely NOT be as stale last Sunday's communion cracker.
